Things That Go “Bump” In The Night!

Finnegan Sounds Off!

I have been listening to a bit of late night/early morning talk radio lately and what do my wandering ears hear but rehashing of “encounters of the strange kind” and other “ghost” stories of various flavors. Some of stories and beliefs have been around for many millennia; they come and go and are back again. Are these real, are they just money making schemes, or does it matter if ghosts. UFOs, and/or reincarnation! Is it real?

!!! IT MATTERS!!!

Deuteronomy 18: 9-14

“When you have come into the land which Yahweh your Elohim gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found with you anyone that makes his son to pass through the fire, one that uses divination, one that practices augury, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh: and because of these abominations Yahweh your Elohim does drive them out before you. You shall be perfect with Yahweh your Elohim. For theses nations, that you shall dispossess, listen to them that practice augury, and to diviners, but as for you, Yahweh your Elohim has nor permitted you to do.” (All Scriptural quotes from “The Sacred Scriptures, Bethel Edition”)

There are surely those unscrupulous persons who are out to fleece the gullible, the superstitions, and those who are just naive. We see them almost every day on TV offering “free” readings, often along with the commercials for phone sex, questionable “dating services” or whatever. These are often can be identified by their use of info (?) commercials, (a.k.a. infomercials) always asking for money, bait-and-switch tactics, exotic sounding names and accents, etc. They tend to prey upon the “lonely” and insecure (personal life or finances). They look for the greedy, desperate, ignorant; and, they usually find them. If they are legal they will have a disclaimer stating that their “service” is for “entertainment purposes only.” The only power these people have is that of the lie, acting, and parroting back information that you already gave them without realizing it. Unhappily many make these “fortune tellers” their religion, thus making themselves idolaters and the poorer (spiritually and financially) for it.

What of the shamans, spirit-world seers, ghost seers/communicators/investigators, alien abductors, remote viewers, tarot card readers, *Ouija boards, *Eight Balls, ad nauseam?

Here is a real danger, assuming that the person(s) under consideration are not of the first grouping (and there are many of them in all areas). The danger is that these people are “playing with fire.” There is indeed a “spirit realm” and it is not to be taken lightly. This spirit world is what is being dealt with in the Bible, and is the principal reason for most, if not all, religion

             * Magic Eight Ball? ic Eight Ball

*Oui·ja ('jə, -jē) pronunciation

A trademark used for a board with the alphabet and other symbols on it, and a planchette that is thought, when touched with the fingers, to move in such a way as to spell out spiritualistic and telepathic messages on the board.

Ouija Board’s

Ouija Board Old Style                           Pointer                        Ouija Board New Style

The Ouija board is an alphabet board with a pointer used for various forms of divination and/or spirit contact. The Ouija board dates back to ancient times. In China before the birth of Confucius, similar instruments were used to communicate with the dead. In Greece divination was done with a table that moved on wheels to point to signs, which were interpreted as revelations from the "unseen world." The rolling table was used through the nineteenth century. Other such devices were used by the ancient Romans as early as the third century A.D., and in the thirteenth century by the Mongols. Some Native Americans used a board prototype that would be considered similar to Ouija boards, to find missing objects and persons, and obtain spiritual information. In 1853 the *planchette came into use in Europe. . . .The Ouija enjoyed enormous popularity during and after World War I, when many people were desperate to communicate with loved ones killed in the war and Spiritualism was in a revival.

(*planchette n a heart-shaped board on wheels, holding a pencil which is supposed to write automatically, giving messages from spirits, when a hand rested upon it.) Webster's Universal Dictionary & Thesaurus

The modern occult origin of this "parlor game" is specifically designed to contact the spirit world. Its recent development began with prominent French spiritualist, M. Planchette in 1853 and, in 1899 was bought by William Fuld, an inventor interested in spiritism. In 1966 Fuld, often considered the modern "father" of the Ouija board, sold his patent to Parker Brothers. Although Parker Brothers keeps sales figures confidential, the board has now sold perhaps 20-25 million sets.

The board puts one in contact with the spirit world and as a result it should be considered anything but a game. It continues to be marketed as a game, no doubt because of the almighty dollar. Many famous mediums began their trade by experimentation with the Ouija board and what they came in contact with are demons. Some even advise against using it.

Participants believe they are contacting a departed loved one or some one from the past, who has information. It usually starts out as innocent fun and then can lead to addiction. The force behind the board is demonic. Satan deceives the one who is desperately asking questions. I should come as no surprise that nine out of ten times the answer just happens to be what the person wants to hear. I could be a family member or someone talking for them saying they are ok in the here after. Once contact is established, Satan lures the victim in to other occult activity.  Most will indulge in Psychic's, and fortunetellers to get answers to many questions, instead of asking Yahweh!

The card readers, channelers, séance mediums, bone throwers, shamans, etc., are contacting, or being contacted by demonic spirits - period. Even the most open-minded talk-show host will react in near terror at the thought of an Ouija board, for it is a gateway for all kinds of evil. The other means of contacting the “spirits” are no better.

Are there “ghosts” of those who have died? According to the Bible the answer is NO! It even forbids trying to communicate with the dead (Deuteronomy 18: 9-14). Furthermore, the dead do not even worship the Creator:

Psalm 115: 17

“ The dead praise not Yah Neither any that go down into silence”

Are there spirits that pass themselves off as ghosts? Yes, the incident in 1 Samuel 28 being a good example (Saul knew better and paid dearly for it). Are there POSSIBLE explanations for SOME of the non-interactive sightings? MAYBE! MAYBE NOT!

Let it suffice to say that there are NO dead people’s disembodied souls wandering about.

                                               Ecclesiastes 12: 7

“and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to Elohim who gave it.”

What about alien encounters, UFOs? If we take both terms literally, without reading anything into them, then in some cases the answer would have to be, yes. Are angels “alien?” Well, to us they are. Are UFOs real? Was EliYah, in 2 Kings 2, taken up in a “chariot of fire?” Yes. Was this “chariot” an “object?” He was physically taken in it, it therefore had mass and occupied space, and therefore it was an “Object.” It took him up into the air; therefore it was “Flying.” Although it was described as a “chariot” we do not know what it looked like (no pictures), therefore it remains Unidentified. This is about as far as we dare go with it. So, are all reports real? No! It may be a government project (the old stealth fighter and B-2 projects as examples), or as always there are those in the first grouping here as well. Are all “aliens” (read “angels”) good, or are they bad, or are they somewhere in between? They are either good (of Yahweh), or bad (of Satan); there is either white (good) or bad (black) but there are no grays (pun intended) with Yahweh. CAUTION is the by-word as always. IF the particular incident is truly “alien” (and these would be few) then beware. If it causes you to question Scripture, reject it - it is confusion and therefore not of Yahweh (1 Corinthians 14: 33); if it causes you to automatically accept JUST ANYTHING that comes from space, reject it - it is anti-Messiah (“And no marvel; for ever Satan fashions himself into an angel of light. It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” 2 Corinthians 11: 14-15); if it causes you to automatically fear JUST ANYTHING that comes from above, reject it - Messiah is to return from above and man will fight Him as an invader (“who also said, You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Yahshua, who was received up from you into heaven, shall also come in like manner as you beheld him going into heaven.” Acts 1: 11, see also Revelation 1: 7; Zephaniah 12: 10; Daniel 7: 13-14, 26-27; Revelation 16: 16). If it confirms Scripture, then maybe; but do not make a religion of it - what is contained in the word of Yahweh is more than sufficient.

Reincarnation? Never! I have finally heard someone admit that if reincarnation is true then it does not matter if you are a Hindu, you may come back as a Muslim; it does not matter if you are a Muslim, you may come back as a Ch----tian, it does not matter if you are a Ch----tian, you may come back as a Jew, it does nor matter if you are a Jew, you may come back as a ...... and so it goes on, and on. In short, the person is saying that all faiths are the same because they don’t matter.

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that

they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in

Beware of ANYTHING that is not SCRIPTURALLY founded or is not truly HARD FACT! (Not theory, FACT! Not hypothesis, FACT! Not conjecture, FACT! You get the idea.) All else is a lie and all lies lead to death.
The occult is found to be extremely wanting – truly deserving the Black Stone!
