THE SEVEN NOAHIDE LAWS

The question we received was in relationship to our being Jews?  Or not being Jews!  Are you Jews?  (Yes, we are Jews!)  If you are Jews, why are you teaching non-Jews Torah and the name of hashem!  Non-Jews are only supposed to know, and be in compliance with the seven noahide laws.  you should not be teaching non-Jews the things only pertaining to the Jewish nation.

I do beg to differ with our Jewish friend.  He had viewed our website and was somewhat upset because we were teaching the Torah and the unspeakable Name of HaShem, Yahweh.  I would like to place before you the Seven Noahide Laws for your consideration.

The Seven Laws of Noah are:

Shefichat damim - Do not murder.
Gezel - Do not steal or kidnap.
Avodah zarah - Do not worship false g-ds/idols.
Gilui arayot - Do not be sexually immoral (engage in incest, sodomy, bestiality, castration and adultery)
Birkat Hashem - Do not utter G-d's name in vain, curse G-d or pursue the occult.
Dinim - Set up righteous and honest courts and apply fair justice in judging offenders and uphold the principles of the last five.
Ever Min HaChai - Do not eat a part of a live animal.

 Now, some history.

Adam was first formed and then Eve.  According to Genesis 2:16-17 Commandments were given to Adam.

And Yahweh Elohim commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

In the beginning there was only Adam.  Then Yahweh Elohim created a mate/companion for Adam.  The trees of the garden were their food.  Their job was to keep the garden in good order.  They had no earthly neighbors, they had no sin, they had no sexual relationship that we are aware of. (Although the be fruitful and multiply command appears in Gen. 1:28, they began fulfilling this after they had been expelled from the garden in Gen 4:1 .) Eve was not menstruating because she did not have the pain of conception and the aftereffects until she sinned later, Gen 3:16.   How many laws do you suppose Adam and Eve had?  Actually it does not say how many!  They only needed a minimum set of regulations.  As a negative command, they were told not to eat of the tree in the middle of the garden.  They kept the Sabbath, as this was in the creation plan.  A day of rest from their duties in the garden.

As man increased, so the necessity for laws and regulations increased.  The sin of Adam and Eve exposed them to the harsher side of life.  If we follow the trail of laws, we eventually come to the earth's destruction because of sin and wickedness in the human race.  After the flood, Almighty Yahweh commanded Noah a set of laws/regulations from that point on.  It would appear, these laws coincide with the wickedness, and the continual evil thinking, that took place prior to the flood.    Let's look at these seven laws.

1. Idolatry is forbidden. Man is commanded to believe in the One Elohim alone and worship only Him.

2. Incestuous and adulterous relations are forbidden.

3. Murder is forbidden. The life of a human being, formed in Elohim's image, is sacred.

4. Cursing the name of Yahweh is forbidden.

5. Theft is forbidden.

6. Eating the flesh of a living animal is forbidden.  (This was commanded to Noah for the first time along with the permission of eating meat.) The blood must be drained out of the animal!

7. Mankind is commanded to establish courts of justice and a just social order to enforce these laws.

These were based on the following passage taken from Genesis chapter 9

Genesis 9
And Elohim blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens; With all  the ground teems, and all the fishes of the sea, into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; As the green herb have I given you all. But flesh with the life of it, which is the blood thereof, shall you not eat. And surely your blood, the blood of your lives, will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it: and at the hand of man, even at the hand of every man’s brother, will I require the life of man. Whoso sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of Elohim made he man. And you, be you fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.
And Elohim spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you. Of all that go out of the ark, even every beast of the earth. And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of the flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. And Elohim said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud, and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between Elohim and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And Elohim said to Noah, This is the token of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth. Genesis 9:1-17

From this passage, and other preceding passages in Genesis, the Seven Noahide laws were extracted.  But; where does it say that the Gentiles, non-Jews were only to receive these laws and not the entire Torah covenant?

At this point in time there were no Jews per se.  remember that the tribe of Judah came later from the loins of Jacob!   Always remember that Torah has the answer!

One law shall be to him that is home born, and unto the stranger that sojourns among you. Exodus 12:49

One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourns with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as you are, so shall the stranger be before Yahweh. One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourns with you. Numbers 15:15-16

You shall have one law for him that sins through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourns among them. Numbers 15:29

He does execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loves the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.  Therefore love the stranger: for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. Deuteronomy 10:18-19

What about those that want to learn Yahweh's way?

Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to Yahweh, to serve him, and to love the name of Yahweh, to be his servants, every one that keeps the sabbath from polluting it, and takes hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon my altar; for my house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. The Sovereign Yahweh which gathers the outcasts of Israel says, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him. Isaiah 56:6-8

Should the Goyim/Gentiles only keep the Seven Noahide laws, or should they keep the whole of Torah law with the animal sacrifices being the exception?  If you study TaNaK you will see a supernatural plan that was put into effect from the beginning.  There were only a few laws needed in Gan Eden.  After the flood, laws were added to regulate the human race.  At Sinai came the rest of the necessary laws, statutes and judgments needed to regulate the human race.  The moral laws of Torah are still in effect.  The sacrificial system was placed in abeyance because of Yahshua's sacrifice for the sins of the human race.  He became the only acceptable sacrifice at this time!

The laws of Torah are binding on anyone that wants to join with the Sovereign Yahweh today!
