SCRIPTURAL GOVERNMENT Part 3
For every high priest, being taken from among men, is appointed for men in things pertaining to Yahweh, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: who can bear gently with the ignorant and erring, for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity; and by reason of it is bound, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. And no man takes the honor unto himself, but when he is called of Yahweh, even as was Aaron. Hebrews 5:1-4
Now Yahweh's selection is visibly plain to all of Israel in Moses time! The selection process separates Aaron from all the rest! The rebellion is quelled! Moses is still the selected leader of Israel and Aaron is still the High Priest!
The Need For Structure!
So! If you were to set up a government, just how would you do it? Suppose for a moment you were starting a company, an organization such as Microsoft! Just how would you structure it? Would you just hire some people and then say, "go to work"? Would you provide an instruction manual and then hand out copies to all new hires and tell them everything you need is contained within these pages? Just read the instructions, pick a position that you think you can do, and then go to it! Ok? What's the bottom line here? What does this company desire to accomplish? What are the goals? What structure would you follow? Well, the same applies to the Sacred Word of the Most High Yahweh! He has a goal and purpose in mind for the human race!
In part two we saw the struggle that occurred when Korah contended with Moses on his views of Israel's position as a whole. He thought that all of Israel was holy and Moses was only exalting himself over Israel of his own volition! Was this the case? No! Moses and Aaron were selected by Almighty Yahweh from the beginning of the Exodus story.
And Moses said to Yahweh, Oh, Sovereign, I am not eloquent, neither before this time, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And Yahweh said to him, Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes a man dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, Yahweh? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak. And he said, Oh, Sovereign, send, I pray you, by the hand of him whom you will send. And the anger of Yahweh was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is there not Aaron your brother the Levite? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he comes forth to meet you: and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. And you shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth: and I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do. And he shall be your spokesman to the people; and it shall come to pass, that he shall be to you a mouth, and you shall be to him as Elohim. And you shall take in your hand this rod, with which you shall do the signs. Exodus 4:10-17
Here Yahweh selects Moses and tells him that Aaron his brother shall be Moses spokesman! These two were the start of Yahweh's Exodus plan. In modern terminology you have the president of the company and his able assistant. The company has its' beginning!
We have already covered some of the basics concerning the priesthood in the other parts, so to speak. Almighty Yahweh selected the tribe of Levi to administer the tabernacle service. He choose Levi from Israel instead of the first born, (and some scholars say this was part of the problem leading up to the Korah rebellion). The point is! Yahweh choose an order to administer before Him and to Him! The ranks were chosen! The Levitical Priesthood was chosen to perform selected duties of administration. Do you now see how our modern companies parallel this organizational structure? Let's fast forward or as we say "toggle ahead" somewhat now!
The Judges
Judges and officers shall you make you in all your gates, which Yahweh your Elohim gives you, according to your tribes; and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. You shall not wrest justice: you shall not respect persons; neither shall you take a bribe; for a bribe does blind the eyes of the wise, and perverts the words of the righteous. That which is altogether just shall you follow, that you may live, and inherit the land which Yahweh your Elohim gives you. Deuteronomy 16:18-20
Moses gave instructions for setting up the descending order judicial system. Which incidentally, is still employed to a greater or lesser degree worldwide in our own era. Where did this originate? Why?
And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood about Moses from the morning to the evening. And when Moses’ father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that you do to the people? why do you sit alone, and all the people stand about you from morning to even? And Moses said to his father-in-law, Because the people come to me to inquire of Elohim: when they have a matter, they come to me; and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes of Elohim, and his laws. And Moses’ father-in-law said to him, The thing that you do is not good. You will surely wear away, both you, and this people that are with you: for the thing is too heavy for you; you are not able to perform it yourself alone. Listen now to my voice, I will give you counsel, and Elohim be with you: be you for the people to represent Elohim, and bring you the causes to Elohim: and you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and shall show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear Elohim, men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: and let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they shall judge themselves: so shall it be easier for you, and they shall bear the burden with you. If you shall do this thing, and Elohim command you so, then you shall be able to endure, and all this people also shall go to their place in peace. So Moses listened to the voice of his father-in-law, and did all that he had said. And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought to Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves. And Moses let his father-in-law depart; and he went his way into his own land. Exodus 18:13-27
These men were to be assistants under Moses. They were to judge the people under Moses. This included the instruction assignments as well. Moses was teaching the Israelites the statutes and laws of Elohim, these men aided him in that task. I return to previous remarks concerning the establishment of companies, organizations etc. Here you see the people were not cognizant of Yahweh's laws, statutes and ordinances. They had to be taught! I was being jocular earlier when I said to just hire people and give them an instruction manual! I was predicating that remark on prosaic statements heard over the years, "You don't need any man to teach you what the Bible says." Everyone now has access to their own copy of the Bible and they can figure out just what it says on their own!
I do not want to dwell too long on the judges at this point of the series! So I will move along a little more rapidly for now!
Now! If that is the case? Why are there so many different religious organizations on this earth now? Huh? Why is it, that every time we turn around there is another religious group forming? And they claim that everything they believe comes directly out of the Bible! Nonsense! If that were the case, there would be unity of belief!
Again I say to you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:19-20
It is said, that if you have two Jews you have three opinions. (And I mean no offence here at all!) This is quite true when it comes to the Bible!
Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Amos 3:3
Where organizations are concerned you cannot have chaos. You cannot allow untrained people to conduct your business or you will lose your business very quickly!
Moses sets up the correct system under Yahweh's directions. By the way! Where does Jethro fit in? Was he just Moses father-in-law?
JETHRO (Encyclopedia Information)
Now Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father-in-law, heard of all that Elohim had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, how that Yahweh had brought Israel out of Egypt. Exodus 18:1
Oh! So Jethro was a priest? Yes! The priest of Midian! Where do you think Moses gained some of his training and background? He spent forty years in the desert with Jethro and his people. You can be assured that he learned something about the land and other necessary things during this time!
Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of Elohim, to Horeb Exodus 3:1
I wonder! What was your impression when you read the story of Israel's deliverance? Did you think that Moses was just a wild man living in the desert? Then, all of a sudden, "He got the calling?" No training was necessary! Moses was ready? I don't really think this is the case at all! Moses was intelligent, educated and trained in all the ways of Egypt! Now he had to be trained in Almighty Yahweh's ways more fully!
And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians; and he was mighty in his words and works. Acts 7:22
And when it was day, he called his disciples; and he chose from them twelve, whom also he named apostles: Luke 6:13
You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide: that whatever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. John 15:16
I am using the above passages to show a selection process! Yahweh chose Moses and Aaron. Yahshua chose the twelve! Moses received the words directly from Yahweh of the OT and the Apostles receive the words and training directly from Yahshua the Messiah the Yahweh of the OT!
So! You have a Bible and you don't need anyone to teach you anything! Right? Do you have the Holy Spirit of Almighty Yahweh? Without this key component you cannot understand the Bible!
And the disciples came, and said to him, Why do you speak to them in parables? And he answered and said to them, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but whoever has not, from him shall be taken away even that which he has. Therefore speak I to them in parables; because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And to them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says,
Matthew 13:10-15By hearing you shall hear, and shall in no wise understand; seeing you shall see, and shall in no wise perceive: For this people’s heart is waxed gross, their ears are dull of hearing, their eyes they have closed; least they should perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, should turn again, I should heal them.
These things have I spoken to you, while yet abiding with you. But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, it shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you. John 14:25-26
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do? And Peter said unto them, Repent, every one of you, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahshua the Messiah for the remission of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:37-38
Now! Until then, you will not understand the Bible, the Sacred Word of Almighty Yahweh! That's one of the major reasons there are so many religious groups, organizations, individuals today! They just cannot agree on anything concerning the will of Yahweh, or so it seems!
The Bible will be a mystery, a riddle, a parable to you without the Holy Spirit of Almighty Yahweh!
