The Rise of Demonism

And they go into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught. And they were astonished at his teaching: for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes. And straightway there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, saying, What have we to do with you, Yahshua you Nazarene? have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are, the Holy One of Elohim. And Yahshua rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And the unclean spirit, tearing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is this? a new teaching! with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him. Mark 1:21-27

Why is there a rise in demonism in this present time? Does increasing demonism portend the end of this current age of man?

In the days of Moses before the Exodus, we find an interesting series of events. Moses was called by Yahweh to be the one who delivered Israel form the hand of Pharaoh. He was to lead Israel into a different land, away from the bondage of Egypt. Before these events reach a summit, culminating with Egypt's destruction, Moses had to confront Pharaoh's magicians. Let's review the calling of Moses.

Exodus 4:1-9
And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken to my voice; for they will say, Yahweh has not appeared unto you. And Yahweh said to him, What is that in your hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Cast in on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent;

and Moses fled from before it.

And Yahweh said to Moses, Put forth your hand, and take it by the tail (and he put forth his hand, and laid hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand); That they may believe that Yahweh, the Elohim of their fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, has appeared unto you. And Yahweh said furthermore to him, Put now your hand into your bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow. And he said, Put your hand into your bosom again. (And he put his hand into his bosom again; and when he took it out of his bosom, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.) And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe you, neither listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe even these two signs, neither listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which you take out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

Examining this passage reveals three signs Moses was given to make happen. These signs were designed to convince the elders of Israel and Pharaoh in particular, that he was sent by Elohim. Yahweh gave Moses control over demons witnessed by the fact he put forth his hand and took the serpent by the tail and it becoame a rod again! The serpent is a representation of Satan. Moses had control over Satan! Did Yahshua have control over Satan? Why these particular signs you might ask? The first one consisted of a rod that would turn into a serpent. Unusual for its' time? Not necessarily! Observe!

And Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, When Pharaoh shall speak to you, saying, Show a miracle for you: then you shall say to Aaron, Take your rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. And Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so as Yahweh had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aarons rod swallowed up their rods. And he hardened Pharaohs heart, that he listened not to them; as Yahweh had said. Exodus 7:8-13

History is replete with parallels and portends. What preceded the Exodus? What preceded the first appearance of Messiah Yahshua? What preceded the First World War? The Second World War? The rise in demonism for one thing! Where does this originate?

And then shall the Wicked one be revealed, whom the Sovereign Yahshua shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause Yahweh shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be condemned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12

For there shall arise false Messiah's, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24

Satan will give power to his chosen deceivers. They will be able to show lying signs and wonders. In Egypt the priestly cities of Heliopolis and On educated chosen Egyptians in the mystical arts. It is reported that even Moses attended the schooling at one or both of these cities. In Acts 7:22 we read that Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians. Moses was raised in the house of Pharaoh, perhaps being educated for the position of Pharaoh. Remember Joseph was raised up to be the power behind the throne in his era. (In truth, Joseph was the real leader of Egypt.) Also remember that Joseph's wisdom excelled that of the wise men and magicians of his era.

And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Forasmuch as Elohim hath showed you all this, there is none so discreet and wise as you are: You shall be over my house, and according to your word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than you. And Pharaoh said to Joseph, See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Josephs hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without you shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. Genesis 41:39-44

Israel was forbidden to participate in or practice the Black Arts. Torah explicitly states the following:

When you have come into the land which Yahweh your Elohim gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto Yahweh: and because of these abominations Yahweh your Elohim does drive them out from before you. You shall be perfect with Yahweh your Elohim. For these nations, which you shall possess, hearkened to observers of times, and to diviners: but as for you,  Yahweh your Elohim has not suffered you so to do. Deuteronomy 18:9-14

What was Yahshua the Messiah faced with in his time? Yahshua was confronted with a very daunting task. He had to live here on earth as a human being. He had to be without sin. He had to face Satan head on. Satan tempted him beyond any temptation we will ever face.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin Hebrews 4:15

Quite the challenge? No one else has ever accomplished this in any era! You will notice, that almost immediately after Yahshua began his ministry he was confronted with demons.

And Yahshua rebuked him, saying, Hold your peace, and come out of him. And the unclean spirit, tearing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is this? a new teaching! with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him. Mark 1:21-27

Here Yahshua casts out the unclean spirit. This is followed by verse 32-34 in the same passage revealing the following:

And at even, when the sun did set, they brought to him all that were sick, and them that were possessed with demons. And all the city was gathered together at the door. And he healed many that were sick with divers diseases, and cast out many demons; and he suffered not the demons to speak, because they knew him. Mark1:32-34

Almighty Yahweh gave Yahshua control over the demons while he was here on earth. He had a great mission to accomplish, being the perfect sacrifice for our sins! Do you notice a parallel to Moses having control over Pharaoh's Magicians? Moses also was given the ability to display great signs in Egypt. He exercised control over the Magicians of his time. Moses presented Yahweh's greater power,  the rod that became a serpent swallowed up the rod/serpents of Pharaoh's Magicians. Is this not remarkable?

You will also notice the demon in the synagogue cried out. This is a peculiar term used here. It is also used in Mark chapter 5.

G349

P

anakrazo

an-ak-rad'-zo

From G303 and G2896; to scream up (aloud):cry out.

G2896

krazo

krad'-zo

A primary verb; properly to "croak" (as a raven) or scream, that is,
(generally) to call aloud (shriek, exclaim, intreat):cry (out).

Here you see scream used in both definitions. Have you ever been around someone who screams? It is definitely not a pleasant situation. Individuals possessed with demon/demons can have a variety of evil annoying attributes. Screaming is one of the many possibilities.

From the Jewish Encyclopedia Dot Com the following gives a fair description of the attributes of Demons.

Nature of Demons.

In the main demons were workers of harm. To them were ascribed the various diseases, particularly such as affect the brain and the inner parts (compare Rhode, "Psyche," 1894, p. 385). Hence there was a constant fear of "Shabriri" (lit. "dazzling glare"), the demon of blindness, who rests on uncovered water at night and strikes those with blindness who drink of it (Pes. 112a; 'Ab. Zarah 12b); "ruach ẓeradah," the spirit of catalepsy, and "ruaḥ ẓelaḥta," also "ruach, palga," the spirit of headache (megrim or meningitis ?), hovering on palmtrees (Pes. 111b; Ḥul. 105b; Giṭ. 68b); "ben nefilim," the demon of epilepsy, and "ruaḥ ẓeḥarit," the spirit of nightmare (Bek. 44b; Tosef., Bek. v.3; Schorr, in "He-Ḥaluẓ," 1869, p. 15); "ruaḥ tezazit," the spirit of delirious fever and madness, befalling man and beast (Pesiḳ., Parah, 40a; Yer. Yoma viii. 45b; Yoma 83b; Gen. R. xii.; see Aruch and Dictionaries, s.v. ); "ruaḥ ẓara'at," the spirit of leprosy (Ket. 61b); "ruaḥ ḳardeyaḳos," the spirit of melancholy (καρδιακός; Giṭ. vii. 1, p. 67b; Yer. Giṭ. 48c); "shibbeta," a female demon, bringing croup to persons, especially children, who leave their hands unwashed in the morning (Ḥul. 107b; Ta'an. 20b; Yoma 77b), probably identical with the "bush-asp," the Parsee demon "with long hands," who lulls men to sleep and attacks them ("Vendidad," xviii. 38; "Bundahish," xxviii. 26); "bat ḥorin" (daughter of freedom; possibly a play on "ḥiwar," a euphemistic expression for blindness), a demon bringing a disease of the eye to one who fails to wash his hands after meals (see Brll's "Jahrb." i. 157); "kuda," a demon of disease which attacks women in childbirth ('Ab. Zarah 29a); "eshshata," the demon of fever, (ib. 28a; Shab. 66b); "ruaḥ zenunim," the spirit of sexual desire (Pes. 111a); "she'iyyah," an ox-like demon dwelling in desolate houses (B. Ḳ. 21a, after Isa. xxiv. 12); and many others mentioned in Rabbinical lore, only part of which has been preserved in Shab. 66 et seq., 109 et seq.: Pes. 109-113; Giṭ. 68-70; Sanh. 67 et seq.; see Brll, l.c. i. 154 et seq., who refers also to "puta" or "pura," the spirit of forgetfulness, mentioned in Siddur Rab Amram, i. 31b; see also Blau, "Das Altjdische Zauberwesen," 1898, pp. 71-85. On the demon "ben temalyon" (probably a euphemism for St. Vitus' dance)

As you can see, demons are not good to have around. How can we prevent demons from troubling us? First, what causes the demon to depart to begin with? Yahshua cast out demons in Yahweh's mighty name. The word of Yahweh and obedience to it plays a very important part in dealing with demons. Yahshua was tempted by Satan and he used the word of Yahweh to overcome him and win the victory.

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walk through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, I will return to my house from where I came out; and when he is come, he finds it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goes he, and takes with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. Matthew 12:43-45

The series Looking For Truth? right here on this web site gives you the reader, direction in becoming an obedient child of the Most High Yahweh. The word of Yahweh and obedience to it, will bring about changes if correctly followed. You must replace evil with the good of Yahweh's word. Once the demon/demons are departed, you must keep your temple filled with the pleasing things of Yahweh's Holy Word!

Yahshua the Savior of men went about doing good and curing those afflicted of the Devil. He healed so many people while he was here on earth. Healing can still be realized even in this wicked era. Demonism increases at various periods of time throughout history. There was a rise in demonism prior to WW 1 and then WW 2 and now in the final days of this evil generation. The occult was worshipped and followed by Hitler and his evil agents. The occult is exalted today in various movies i.e. Lord of the Rings. The Harry Potter books also exalt magic and occult phenomena. People following their Horoscope on a daily basis. People holding sances to contact the spirit realm as did King Saul. Very dangerous business me thinks!

So! What is the difference between the power of Almighty Yahweh and the power of Satan? ? Yahweh's power is unlimited, while Satan's power is limited! You can see a parallel of this in the Exodus narratives. Pharaoh's magicians were able to duplicate some of the signs that Moses and Aaron were given to do. But? The magicians could only go so far as the power of Yahweh continued to increase. You can review this in Exodus 8:16-19

And Yahweh said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Stretch out your rod, and smite the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And they did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and there were lice upon man, and upon beast; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: and there were lice upon man, and upon beast. Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, This is the finger of Elohim: and Pharaohs heart was hardened, and he hearkened not to them; as Yahweh had spoken.

Nothing is impossible with Almighty Yahweh! Mankind is limited in power! Satan is limited in power! Each component in Yahweh's creation reaches a limitation. The creation can only proceed so far before it reaches it's extent! Almighty Yahweh will not have anything contending with him for power or displays of power. This happened in the Heavens when Stan rose up against him for the very throne that only Yahweh occupies. He was defeated and cast out of his position. He was reduced in power and now uses the power he was allowed to have, to trouble the people of Yahweh.

You can see striking similarities of this right here on earth. When evil individuals are forced to leave a religious organization for the peace and comfort of good people, they act just like their Elohim, Satan! They SCREAM, they speak evil against their former affiliation. They move on to other organizations where they practice the work of their demon leader, Satan. There they will find fault with that organization, or the next organization, and on and on the cycle continues. If you are a Pastor, Minister or a leader of any religious organization and new people come into your flock! Hawke issues this caveat/warning! Beware! Ask them why they left their former affiliation. If they start speaking evil of the leadership or the membership regarding their former religious organization! Proceed with caution! These people just don't change and you will be next!

So for now! May Yahweh Almighty guard you against Satan!

Yours in Messiah Hawke
