Part Two

But I have against you that you left your first love.
 Then remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works. And if not,
I am coming to you quickly, and will remove your lamp stand from its place, unless you repent
.  Revelation 2:4-5

 You are the light of the world. A city situated on a mountain cannot be hidden.
 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under the grain measure, but on the lamp stand; and it shines for all those in the house.
So let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works, and may glorify your Father in Heaven.  Matthew 5:14-16

The city called Jerusalem, and the Jewish people were supposed to provide the light of Yahweh's ways to the world.  The true teachings became diluted with false doctrines from the Rabbinical traditions on the oral law, and also the false teachings from Babylon. These teachings are commonly referred to as the Talmud!

Light requires a source.  For the candlestick, { candelabra, menorah, lamp stand, } the source was olive oil.  This oil was provided for the service of the sanctuary in its' pure form.  The lamp was filled and the wicks were trimmed to provide the Holy place with light.  The lamp stand was considered one of the vessels in the Holy place.

 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
 Command the sons of Israel, and they shall bring to you pure olive oil, beaten, for the light,
to cause a light to burn continually.
 Outside the veil of the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation Aaron shall arrange it from evening until morning before Yahweh continually, a perpetual statute throughout your generations.
 He shall arrange the lamps on the pure lamp stand before Yahweh continually.  Leviticus 24:1-4

The perpetual light in the Holy place.  Can we compare this to the true light from heaven, Yahshua?

 And no one has ascended into heaven, but he that descended out of heaven, even the Son of man, who is in heaven.  John 3:13

 Then Yahshua again spoke to them, saying, I am the Light of the world. The one following Me will in no way walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.   John 8:12

 While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.  John 9:5

 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim.
 He was in the beginning with Elohim.
 All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.
 In Him was life, and
the life was the light of men;
the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overtake it.  John 1:1-5

 In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth;
 and the earth being without form and empty, and darkness on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of Elohim moving gently on the face of the waters,
then Elohim said, Let light be! And there was light.
 And Elohim saw the light, that it was good, and Elohim separated between the light and darkness.
 And Elohim called the light, Day. And He called the darkness, Night. And there was evening, and there was morning the first day.  Genesis 1:1-5

We can plainly see the interlacing of Yahweh's word.  These scriptures are connected as one accentual unit.  Passages from the OT are complimented by application in the NT.

How do we apply these various symbols used in the Bible?  The dove?  The Menorah?  The Olive Tree?  The olive oil?  We will let scripture answer each application.

The dove appears in Noah's time.  After the rain stopped, Noah released a dove.  Let's read the account firsthand.

 And he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
 but the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him to the ark; for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: and he put forth his hand, and took her, and brought her in unto him into the ark.
 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;
 and the
dove came in to him at eventide; and, lo, in her mouth an olive-leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
 And he stayed yet other seven days, and sent forth the dove; and she returned not again unto him any more.   Genesis 8:8-12

Symbols of peace!  Symbols that depicted Yahweh's war with mankind had ended, for now!  The significance of the dove appears in Yahshua's time.

 Now it came to pass, when all the people were baptized, that, Yahshua also having been baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,
and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.   Luke 3:21-22

Once again, Yahweh extends peace to the human race.  This time peace comes in the person called Yahshua, Yahweh's beloved Son.  He offered Yahweh's terms and conditions to be at peace with Yahweh, and also to be one as they were.

How do we understand the menorah?  This vessel that was used in the Tabernacle and then in the temple of King Solomon, represented something that contained olive oil.  Neither one would be complete without the other.  You needed the vessel to contain the oil, and you needed the oil to place into the vessel to supply the resource for light.  This oil was poured into the menorah or lamp stand, wicks were placed into the bowls on top, and they were lit according to Yahweh's commandment.

   For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; And reproofs of instruction are the way of life:  Proverbs 6:23

 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And light unto my path.  Psalm 119:105

{ For a lamp is the commandment, and instruction a light (Jerome et lex lux);
And a way of life, disciplinary reproofs. }

The analogy of a vessel can be seen in the following scriptures.

Speaking of Paul:

 But Yahshua said unto him, Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings, and the children of Israel:   Acts 9:15

Of wives:

 You husbands, in like manner, dwell with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor unto the woman, as unto the weaker vessel, as being also joint-heirs of the grace of life; to the end that your prayers be not hindered.   1 Peter 3:7

Of the human race in general:

 Or has not the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor?   Romans 9:21

 But now, O Yahweh, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you our potter; and we all are the work of your hand.  Isaiah 64:8

 The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,
 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he was making a work on the wheels.
 And when
the vessel that he made of the clay was marred in the hand of the potter, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
 Then the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? says Yahweh. Behold, as the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.  Jeremiah 18:1-6

 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, meet for the master's use, prepared unto every good work.   2 Timothy 2:21

The vessel represents the people of Yahweh by analogy, either for good or for evil, the choice is individual.

The vessel is useless without the oil in it to burn for light.  Granted, the menorah is a beautiful piece of work, and gives beauty to the eye.  But, in a dark room without the illumination capabilities of burning oil, you couldn't even see it!   So what does the oil represent?

 "You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; because of this Yahweh, Your Elohim, has anointed You with the oil of gladness beside Your fellows." { Psa. 45:6, 7}  Hebrews 1:9

 Your oils have a pleasing fragrance. Your name is oil poured forth, therefore the alamot { virgins } love you.  Son of Solomon 1:3

Can we compare the name of Yahweh to the oil?  The lamp stand which holds the oil is represented by the clay vessel, also called the descendants of Adam.  Man was created from the earth's elements.  Actually from the dust of the earth.  These vessels were created to be useful in the creator's hands.  Israel was to represent Yahweh's ways here on earth.  They were supposed to be a light to the nations.  They were supposed to take Yahweh's laws to the nations.  They were to reveal Yahweh's Holy Name to the nations as well.

 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.  Isaiah 60:3

 But, they hid the name, added to the laws of Yahweh with oral traditions, and they ended up being a bad vessel on the earth.

No one vessel is useful without the Name of Yahweh within it!  The name of the Son of Man, Yahshua must be in that vessel as well.  Yahshua was the light of the world!  This was depicted by the light of menorah in the Holy place.  Yahshua came in Yahweh's Name his will to perform.

He was the perfect vessel with the pure oil of the Name of Yahweh contained within.  The law, the commandments show the way to Yahweh's Kingdom here on earth.  This Kingdom will be one of law and light.

 And the city has no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of Yahweh did lighten it, and the lamp thereof is the Lamb.
 And the nations shall walk amidst the light thereof: and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it.   Revelation 21:23-24

The nations are illuminated by the true lamp, Yahshua!  The nations walk in the light of Yahweh as the nations were supposed to when Israel was set to be the light bearers to the world.  They failed and Yahweh made another vessel to carry His Name and Commandments, Yahshua the Messiah!  He bore the truth and light to the nations.  He was the perfect vessel.  The vessel of pure gold, with the pure olive oil inside.

 And they said one to another, Was not our heart burning within us, while he spoke to us in the way, while he opened to us the scriptures?  Luke 24:32

And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
 Command the sons of Israel, and they shall bring to you pure olive oil, beaten, for the light,
to cause a light to burn continually.

Should the light of Yahweh's Torah burn within us continually?

When the lamp stand is removed from its place, what does that mean?  We will look at this next!
