(The mindset of a murderer!)

"But they cried out all together, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: --
one who for a certain insurrection made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison."  Luke 23;18-19

A surprising number of people who deal with criminals do not know how criminals think. How a person behaves is determined largely by how he thinks. Criminals think differently. If we are thoroughly familiar with how they think, we are in a far better position to draft legislation, formulate policies,
administer programs, render more informed decisions, and be more effective in direct contacts with criminals both in the institutions and in the community. (Samenow, 1984: 23)

"And Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."  Genesis 6:5

"And Yahweh smelled the sweet savor; and Yahweh said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake, for that the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done."  Genesis 8:21

"Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their paths."  Isaiah 59:7

"Hear the word of Yahweh, you children of Israel; for Yahweh has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of Elohim in the land.
"There is nothing but swearing and breaking faith, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery; they break out, and blood touches blood."  Hosea 4:1-2

In these passages Abba Yahweh indicts the mental thought processes of His human creation. In the human mind is found thoughts of evil continually, and; this is from their youth!  Also; the thoughts of iniquity lead to the the shedding of innocent blood.  In part one we examined the murder of Abel by the wicked Cain; his own brother.  This parallel was seen in the death of Yahshua the Messiah.  The Cain mentality was perpetuated through the annals of earth's history.  This evil mindset continues in our present time.  This innocent blood also encompasses abortions.  Is there anything more innocent than that on earth today? An unborn child?

In Hosea; Yahweh indicts (Accuses formally of a crime) the human race for murder after murder, this is followed by other evil works that can only originate in the mind.  Have you ever given any thought to what is in the mind of individuals that can murder without any apparent feelings or; regard for their victims?  What is in the mind of the Cain stereotype?  Have you ever considered what's in the mind of  a Psychopath?  A Sociopath?

"To give you some idea of the enormity of the problem that faces us, consider that there are at least 2 million psychopaths in North America; the citizens of New York City have as many as 100,000 psychopaths among them. And these are conservative estimates. Far from being an esoteric, isolated problem that affects only a few people, psychopathy touches virtually every one of us.
Consider also that the prevalence of psychopathy in our society is about the same as that of schizophrenia, a devastating mental disorder that brings heart-wrenching distress to patient and family alike. However, the scope of the personal pain and distress associated with schizophrenia is small compared to the extensive personal, social, and economic carnage wrought by psychopaths. They cast a wide net, and nearly everyone is caught in it one way or another.
The most obvious expressions of psychopathy—but by no means the only ones—involve flagrant criminal violation of society’s rules. Not surprisingly, many psychopaths are criminals, but many others remain out of prison, using their charm and chameleonlike abilities to cut a wide swath through society and leaving a wake of ruined lives behind them.

Together, these pieces of the puzzle form an image of a self-centered, callous, and remorseless person profoundly lacking in empathy and the ability to form warm emotional relationships with others, a person who functions without the restraints of conscience. If you think about it, you will realize that what is missing in this picture are the very qualities that allow human beings to live in social harmony.
It is not a pretty picture, and some express doubt that such people exist. To dispel this doubt you need only consider the more dramatic examples of psychopathy that have been increasing in our society in recent years. Dozens of books, movies, and television programs, and hundreds of newspaper articles and headlines, tell the story: Psychopaths make up a significant portion of the people the media describe—serial killers, rapists, thieves, swindlers, con men, wife beaters, white-collar criminals, hype-prone stock promoters and “boiler-room” operators, child abusers, gang members, disbarred lawyers, drug barons, professional gamblers, members of organized crime, doctors who’ve lost their licenses, terrorists, cult leaders, mercenaries, and unscrupulous businesspeople.

Read the newspaper in this light, and the clues to the extent of the problem virtually jump off the page. Most dramatic are the cold-blooded, conscienceless killers who both repel and fascinate the public.  (Hare,1993: 2-3)

"For the word of Yahweh is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.
And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do."  Hebrews 4:12-13

Criminality is a choice!  One chooses to commit a crime or not to commit a crime.  Choice is paramount in understanding the criminal mind.  Adam and Eve made a conscious decision, a choice to disobey Yahweh in Gan Eden.  Cain made a conscious choice to kill his brother; Abel!  The people of Yahshua's era made a conscious choice to have the Messiah killed, murdered in cold blood!  Deuteronomy 30:15 "See, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil;... A system of choices is offered to every human being on this planet. Consider the following incident:

"Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests,
and said, What are you willing to give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they weighed to him thirty pieces of silver.
And from that time he sought opportunity to deliver him to them."  Matthew 26:14-16

Judas Iscariot made a conscious choice, a decision to betray Yahshua to the errant Priesthood.  He had a choice and he willingly made it!  Later we find that he realized the serious error in judgment that he made, but; it was too late for him!  Mark 14:21 "For the Son of man goes, even as it is written of him: but woe to that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had not been born."

During the final supper that Yahshua observed with His Apostles, warnings were give, but; they went unnoticed by Judas Iscariot!  He continued on his chosen path to destruction. I am sure that he made a conscious choice that proved to be fatal to him in the end.  How does a criminal think that would desensitize any remorse or regret at the time of their criminal activity?

"The criminal is uncompromising. He seeks to control others for the sake of control. Human relationships are opportunities for him to make conquests and get what he wants. (Thirty Pieces of Silver) Whether operating by deception, intimidation, or brute force, he is determined to prevail. He demands respect, but not necessarily on the merits of hard work or by treating others well. The criminal’s pretensions (Judas was a thief, his hand was in the bag John 12:6) outstrip his achievements. He does whatever seems easy or expedient at the time and is prone to balk at doing what others require. If you put nine of these people on a baseball team, each would think he was the captain and attempt to give orders. When a task becomes difficult or disagreeable, the criminal slacks off or quits altogether, then blames others for the results. Thinking something makes it so. Success at any enterprise is guaranteed just because the criminal thinks it is, not because he is willing to do the necessary work.

Criminals come from all walks of life—rich and poor, educated and illiterate—and from all ethnic, racial, and religious groups. They are not immediately recognizable; they do not announce their presence. Rather, they scheme and connive to gain an advantage. When they encounter opposition, they become more deceptive or respond violently.
The criminal cases out others to identify vulnerabilities, then preys upon them. When apprehended, he evaluates his interrogators in order to feed them what he thinks they want to hear. The criminal perennially renders himself as the victim. Whatever happens invariably is someone else’s fault. (The serpent beguiled me, it was the woman you gave me!) After the fact, he always offers an explanation that he hopes his listeners will find plausible. Usually, it has little or nothing to do with his true motives.

The criminal is changeable. A violent individual can appear to have a winsome personality and seem very sincere about his good intentions. He may worship in a ch--ch at nine, yet two hours later terrorize a store clerk during an armed robbery. With roses and champagne, he may profess love to his wife but later beat her unmercifully because she insisted on knowing why he came home at two in the morning.
The criminal is very fearful (usually a coward) but he conceals this aspect of his personality. He is afraid of getting caught, convicted and confined, or injured or killed in a highly risky crime. The criminal also has internal reservations about some of what he does. However, he has a remarkable capacity to shut off both fears of external consequences as well as qualms of conscience long enough to do as he pleases, with just enough fear emerging so that he looks over his shoulder for the police or any other potential witness. This individual can and does learn from experience. He just doesn’t learn what family, teachers, and others want him to learn. From a past event, he can learn how to be more careful and take fewer risks. Only if he suffers severe consequences is there a possibility that he will conclude that “crime doesn’t pay.” Otherwise, in his experience, crime does pay, because he gets away with far more than is ever known." (Samenow 1984, 1984: 4-5)  [Emphasis Mine]

The criminal mind is one of deceiving themselves and deceiving others who fall victim to their collusive ways.  2 Timothy 3:13 "But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived."  Criminal are imposters, they cannot be honest even with themselves.  They perpetuate lies, and; live lives of deception and falsehood.  Seeking only to satisfy their ego driven plans, nothing will stand in their way in accomplishing their agenda driven Psychopathic or Sociopathic plannothing!

"For there are many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision,
whose mouths must be stopped; men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they should not, for filthy lucre's sake.
One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, idle gluttons."  Titus 1:10-12

"Let favor be showed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness will he deal wrongfully, and will not behold the majesty of Yahweh."  Isaiah 26:10

"Make no friendship with a man that is given to anger; And with a wrathful man you shall not go:
Lest you learn this ways, And get a snare to your soul.  Proverbs 22:24

Psychopaths make up a significant portion of the people the media describe—serial killers, rapists, thieves, swindlers, con men, wife beaters, white-collar criminals, hype-prone stock promoters and “boiler-room” operators, child abusers, gang members, disbarred lawyers, drug barons, professional gamblers, members of organized crime, doctors who’ve lost their licenses, terrorists, cult leaders, mercenaries, and unscrupulous businesspeople.

Maybe in the next part we can examine some of these listed in this final paragraph?

Yours in Yahshua, Hawke
