Isn't it strange, when you hear people say; "Oh! We are doing the work of Yahweh " while they continually attack others who are saying the exact same thing? Who then is doing the work of Yahweh? The attackers? The ones being attacked? Neither? We can glean examples from the Bible for this truth! In the Biblical account of King Saul we can see an example that will answer the questions posed. Was King Saul doing the work of Yahweh? Yes! In the beginning King Saul started off in the right direction. But!
"Saul was forty years old
when he began to reign; and when he had reigned two years over Israel,
Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel, whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in the mount of Beth-el, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.
And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba: and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear.
And all Israel heard say that Saul had smitten the garrison of the Philistines, and also that Israel was had in abomination with the Philistines. And the people were gathered together after Saul to Gilgal." 1 Samuel 13:1-4
In this passage King Saul is fighting the enemies of Israel, doing the work of Yahweh. But! This didn't last very long! King Saul did a very foolish thing in a very short period of time, he decided not to wait for Samuel to offer up the sacrifices. He usurped Samuel's authority by offering up the sacrifices himself. King Saul had no instructions or authority to present these sacrifice to Yahweh! Samuel simply told him to wait!
"And Saul said, Bring
here the burnt-offering to me, and the peace-offerings. And he offered the
And it came to pass that, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt-offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.
And Samuel said, What have you done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you came not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines assembled themselves together at Michmash;
therefore said I, Now will the Philistines come down upon me to Gilgal, and I have not entreated the favor of Yahweh: I forced myself therefore, and offered the burnt-offering.
And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly; you have not kept the commandment of Yahweh your Elohim, which he commanded you: for now would Yahweh have established your kingdom upon Israel for ever.
But now your kingdom shall not continue: Yahweh has sought him a man after his own heart, and Yahweh hath appointed him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept that which Yahweh commanded you." 1 Samuel 13:9-14
This passage is self-explanatory. Saul committed a reckless act of lawlessness by offering up the sacrifices himself. This cost him the kingship of Israel. The work of Yahweh was then assigned to another. This pattern then continues with King Saul. Given opportunity to again follow Yahweh's commands, he still went by his own thoughts and inclinations.
"And Samuel said unto
Saul, Yahweh sent me to anoint you to be king over his people, over Israel: now
therefore listen to the voice of the words of Yahweh.
Thus says Yahweh of hosts, I have marked that which Amalek did to Israel, how he set himself against him in the way, when he came up out of Egypt. [Deut. 25:18]
Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass." 1 Samuel 15:1-3
Did he follow orders? NO!
"And Yahweh sent you on a
journey, and said, Go,
and utterly destroy the sinners
the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
Why then did you not obey the voice of Yahweh, but did fly upon the spoil, and did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh?" 1 Samuel 15:18-19
"Trust in Yahweh with all
your heart, And lean not upon your own understanding:
In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
After all of this; it was definitely downhill for King Saul. From doing the work of Yahweh-to doing the devil's work? How is this you say?
"And the women sang one
to another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, And David
his ten thousands.
And Saul was very wroth, and this saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?
*And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that an evil spirit from Elohim came mightily upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as he did day by day. And Saul had his spear in his hand;
and Saul cast the spear; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall. And David avoided out of his presence twice.
And Saul was afraid of David, because Yahweh was with him, and was departed from Saul." 1 Samuel 18:7-12
*"The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him." Psalm 37:32
When Yahweh's Spirit departs from anyone, they usually always turn against the righteous ones. They turn from doing Yahweh's work to doing the Devil's work. They become the sinners when they attack the righteous ones! They attack and try to destroy those who would be doing good, i.e. David. Obviously the parallels are unmistakable where Yahshua the Messiah is concerned. The religious leaders of his time were supposed to be doing the will of Yahweh Elohim! Were they? No! Not exactly! They were to Yahshua as Saul was to David. They set out to destroy Yahshua because they were like King Saul, envious of him.
therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will you that
I release unto you? Barabbas, or Yahshua who is called Messiah?
For he knew that for envy they had delivered him up." Matthew 27:17-18
When the persecution of the Apostolic Assembly began, the following can be applied to doing the devil's work.
Saul, yet breathing threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the
Master, went unto the high priest,
and asked of him letters to Damascus unto the synagogues, that if he found any that were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem." Acts 9:1-2
Paul/Saul (King Saul parallel?) was convinced that he was doing the right thing, was he? Others prior to this incident thought the same way, were they right?
"And when they had
brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,
saying, We strictly charged you not to teach in this name: and behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey Yahweh rather than men.
The Elohim of our fathers raised up Yahshua, whom you slew, hanging him on a tree.
Him did Yahweh exalt with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom Yahweh has given to them that obey him.
But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and minded to slay them.
But there stood up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in honor of all the people, and commanded to put the men forth a little while.
And he said to them, You men of Israel, take heed to yourselves as touching these men, what you are about to do.
For before these days rose up Theudas, giving himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed, and came to nothing.
After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the enrolment, and drew away some of the people after him: he also perished; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.
And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will be overthrown:
but if it is of Yahweh, you will not be able to overthrow them; lest haply you be found even to be fighting against Yahweh. Acts 5:27-39
Another attack incident! These people not only attacked the chosen of Yahshua, they wanted to kill them! This is always where the difference can be found. Those who attack others, even in the name of Yahweh, are no different than King Saul, The religious leaders of Yahshua's time, and Satan the Devil in particular. Here is one of the best clues you will ever find! Those who are really doing the work of Yahweh are not attacking others! It is imperative that you understand this! Motivated by Yahweh's arch enemy, Satan, evil is the sole intention and reason of these people! They are doing the work of Satan! We at Truth On The Net Dot Com do not attack others, we reveal their true intentions!
You cannot overthrow Yahweh's work no matter how hard you try. Get in the way? You will be removed just like King Saul was. The true Messiah will come and there is nothing anyone can do to stop this great event! Nothing! I will close with the following passage.
said unto him, Teacher, we saw one casting out demons in your name; and we
forbade him, because he followed not us.
But Yahshua said, Forbid him not: for there is no man who shall do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.
For he that is not against us is for us." Mark 9:38-40
Not fighting and attacking, but actually doing the work of Yahweh! And that would be?
Yours in Yahshua, Hawke
