Yahweh's Restoration Ministry
Measured According to Yahweh's Word!
Doc Judges
“And I will make justice the line, and righteousness the plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding-place.” Isaiah 28:17
Recently, another Sacred Name Movement organization, Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry has come to my attention. It drew my attention by the publication of its statement of beliefs. Interestingly enough, it followed some of the more conservative of the Sacred Name groups in its doctrine, yet they still failed to measure up, and in the most noticeable ways. Although everyone likes to make the statement that their organization is the TRUE and most faithful of any to the scriptures, we have been able to see by their statement of beliefs just how sincere they really are. Let’s take a moment to look at what they profess as an organization, and see how they measure up to the Word. Because they have set forth 27 different points, for briefness I will only deal with those points that conflict with the sure foundation of the Sacred Scriptures.
In their first two points, the fact of the Old Testament being the foundation for the new was well established. Special note is made of the restriction in removing or deleting from either text as well as not allowing for any private interpretation. These are well and good as they go, but, they fail to give the directions of how you are to interpret Scriptures accurately. They remarkably follow another organization reviewed here on Truth on the Net Dot Com.
There is one difference however, the other group also included the Bible study method of harmonizing the Bible from cover to cover to arrive at sound doctrine. John 10:35
I could not be in more agreement with their statement in Point 2, the Old and New testament were inspired and are intended for teaching, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. However, from viewing the pictures of their representatives on their web site, I cannot see the evidence of this. They are all clean shaven in violation to Lev 21:5 (speaking of the priests) as well as Lev 19:27 (speaking to the general congregation). Later in their document they do speak of love for Yahweh as a requirement. This, as they say must be demonstrated, citing the Shemah for an example (Deut 6:4-9). What is lacking here is the Biblical definition of love of Yahweh from the Word i.e. I John 5:2-3. It is in keeping the commandments referred to in the Shemah that we demonstrate our love to our creator.
In their Point #3, entitled The Father, this was fairly well stated as is, except for an necessary exclusion of all other names, this should be noted. Most all Sacred Name groups allow for a multitude of various pronunciations as well as other names in violation of Ex 23:13, Yah (Josh) 23:7-8, Psalm 16:4 to name just a few.
Point#6 Obedience to Law. It gives lip service to the need of complete obedience to all of Yahweh’s perfect laws, statutes, and judgments. However, according to the pictures on the web site, this would not seem to be the case as I mentioned before. The representatives I saw there were all clean shaven in violation to Torah. Let’s not forget the passage in Deuteronomy 8:3. We are to live by EVERY word that proceeds from the mouth of Yahweh. We cannot live a hypocritical life by picking and choosing which commandments we personally prefer.
Point#7 Baptism. Like most Sacred Name groups, they show the same misunderstanding of what baptism is and what it is intended to do. They still follow the same misguided concept, that this baptism into the name of Yahshua is what unites Yahweh’s people under Yahshua the Messiah no matter what doctrine or belief they have. It is a physical practice representing a cleansing of the heart in preparation to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. But, it is our love for Yahweh and His son Yahshua that manifests itself in heartfelt obedience to the Law that unites the true worshipers in the body of the Messiah.
Point #11 Feast of Weeks, showed some serious confusion. Although they cite the proper passages and describe the proper point in which to begin the count for Pentecost, they count only 7 weeks for Feast of Weeks. This is a grave error. Leviticus 23:15-16 shows we do count 7 weeks but then, “even to the day after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meal-offering to Yahweh.” (Vs 16) This day would always be the first day of the week, a Sunday. The fiftieth day is the day the New Testament Assembly in Jerusalem received the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, not the 49th. The 49th day was the day of the Matan Torah (giving of the Law). It was not until the next day that Israel ratified that covenant with Yahweh. (Ex 19) Had this group lived during the time of the new Assembly in Jerusalem, by observing the wrong day they would have missed the Holy Spirit being poured out!
Point #18 Divorce and Remarriage has one wondering what problems this organization is facing. They do accurately state that remarriage is allowed on the death of the mate (i.e. Rom 7:2-3) but also sets forth the false doctrine that Yahshua said “engaged couples” can divorce or separate if there was fornication. I recoiled in horror as I read this portion of the document. They cite Matthew 19 as their justification for this doctrine. But, in this passage the word “wife” is the Greek word gune (#1135 in Strong’s). The word means literally a wife not just a woman engaged for marriage. Let’s also consider Deut 24:1. Here the law tells us that if a man takes a wife and marries her and he finds something “unseemly” in her (something sexually wrong) then he may give her a bill of divorcement. This is after the marriage contract has been consummated. Although it is true from Malachi 2:16 that Yahweh hates divorce, he also will not tolerate sexual impurity.
However the worst of all the errors of this group, once again falls into the category of Scriptural Government. Though they speak of unity in Point #27 “Body of Messiah”, they failed to show how that unity is arrived at. They do include I Corinthians 12 which shows the body of the Messiah does have many members but is one. However, one must read this chapter in its entirety and harmonize it with the rest of the scriptures. (Government was found to be a weakness in almost every organization we evaluated!) They failed to follow the scriptural form of government as set forth in the word!
Verse. 28 (ibid) mentions that Yahweh has set some in the assembly, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers… There is an obvious chain of command that is involved here.
Also, Ephesians 4:3-8 is quoted, explaining there is to be unity in the body and that to each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of the Messiah. This would also support their statement that “Yahweh blesses certain people with different gifts to further the work”. But, here is where they fall short. If we continue to read on, verses 11 through 16 (ibid) shows a government structure and an administration that is designed to stabilize, protect and encourage spiritual growth as well as perfection in the membership. In this organization, they do not tell you who those “certain people” are, and what their qualifications must be! Be sure to read the posted articles here on this web site on scriptural government and you will be able to prove for yourself that Yahweh’s people must be following the Biblical form of government. Unity, growth, even love is the result of scriptural government being followed.
Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry’s statement of beliefs, suspiciously follows the statement of doctrine used by the organization we have reviewed and felt deserved the White Stone, So, Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry fails the litmus test of maintaining sound doctrine. I wondered if plagiarism was involved here, because of their many identical belief statements? Intel has it they were once associated with the group that received the White Stone here on Truth on the Net Dot Com!
“To the law and testimony! If they speak not according to this word, surely there is no morning (light) for them.” Isaiah 8:20
Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry therefore is judged to be in serious false doctrine and those looking for the light of Yahweh’s Word should beware of them. They just don't measure up to the line of justice and the plummet of righteousness!
This organization therefore receives the Black Stone!
THE BLACK STONE!
And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; Elah hath numbered your kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; You art weighed in the balances, and are found wanting. Daniel 5:25-27
